I appreciate the input. Yes, I have the converter inlet vented to the outside and it runs very cool. At the moment I'm just going to chalk this up and see what continues. If it acts up more and causes battery problems then I guess I'll be shopping for a replacement. I just didn't know if battery condition could affect the way the converter acts. I dont care to replace a converter only to find that a bad battery was the real culprit.
