LCBU (Light Bar Control Unit) failure!
07 Freightliner LBCU failure!
Started the rig couple days ago and noticed the blank display. Gauges still working thankfully but display is blank. I cycled the off/on rapidly and saw the Freightliner text for just a second but back to blank, backlit screen.
Took the LBCU down to the boards, inspected and cleaned with contact cleaner. Also cleaned the ribbon connector as well but no change.
I will need to replace the unit before I get the yearly inspection because that frekin display shows the odometer!
Called Freightliner and was told the part number is A06-57187-004. Called Freightliner of New Hampshire and was quoted $596.00!
Just thought I'd give others with LBCu a heads up! Sick to my stomach but I see no other options.
