Metal fatigues. Leaf springs are metal.
IMHO, JMHO air bags make for a stiffer ride and just covers up the problem not fix it.
There is a 'lot' of weight already in the coach 'behind the axles' of these C's. Heavy cabinetry, closets, the bed, and usually 'all' the tanks, water gray black. On a 31 ft there is a huge amount of length 'behind' the rear axles.
I went to a frame shop. they now have computers to figure out lift weight etc. to help you achieve what you want. Right down to how much lift you want.
I had a 31 ft. E450. Back end started banging on every bump.
I ended up just adding one leaf. And it was not that expensive either.
WHAT a difference it made in the ride AND, by adding just one leaf, lifted the rear end up as an added bonus. Where I normally would bottom out going into gas stations driveways I now cleared them easily.
