Leaking AC unit

Hello all, new to this forum. But I have a problem, my AC unit is leaking on the inside after running for 20-30 min. this is what I know so far: 1) it doesn't leak when raining, 2) condensate pan drain holes are not clogged, 3) condensate pan drains as it should, poured lots of water in the pan to verify, 4) water is collecting next to the blower fins after unit running, 5) water is then leaking thru some creases in the metal of the bottom of the AC unit, next to a bolt, 6) all bolts are tightened according to instructions 7) no crack in condensate pan. Could condensate be pulled from the coils by the blower then leaking inside. I'm at my wits end here. I'm about to fashion a drip pan on the inside and let it drain to a jug by a small hose. Please help.

  • theres a gasket under the ac, tighten the bolts evenly BUT don,t over tighten , take the inside cover off you,ll see them.
  • Think the above two suggestions are right on. However should the gasket already be squeezed tight with no room left to tighten you would need new gaskets.
  • How much water are you talking about. I have a drip or two come out of several different AC units in RV'S when it is super humid on start up.
  • CHECK the drain holes on the unit, they are on top at the bottom of the unit.
  • the drain holes are unclogged, gasket not leaking, everything is tight. Water is leaking from inside the AC unit, by the fan. it appears that there is plate for the threaded bolt to screw into, and its leaking around that plate, just not sure how water is getting there.
  • IF the unit is a Coleman(RVP) and the mount bolts are too TIGHT and the gasket compressed too much, that will seal the 2 evaporator drain holes by compressing against the roof top and the water has no place to go except inside. You should have at least 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch of gasket not compressed. Doug
  • One half turn each bolt, diagonally. Then try it out. if you go one full turn and the leak stays the same or increases, it's time for a new gasket.

    Feel abused?

    It's 97 degrees here

    So what?

With a humidity factor of 96%. Just a tad sticky. The kids are engaged in a massive water balloon fight. I filled a couple with 36 degree water and you should have heard the screams. Reminded me of getting ice cold AC leak dripped down my collar.

    And I didn't bring a fan...

This morning the fridge had left a bedsheet size puddle on the kitchen floor.
