We keep it powered up 24/7. The frig is always on and often used for pre-company food storage. I plugged a low wattage lamp into the 110 outlet shinning out a side window. This light can be seen from our home front door, the garage, and gives some illumination to the driveway at night...the real purpose is to inform me if the power becomes disconnected to the RV.
