My take is that my fifth wheel is never plugged in unless I have a reason like doing carpets or likewise. It does have a 30 amp receptacle by it where it is stored in the barn.
I do not leave things/systems plugged in if not necessary. I have a battery disconnect and use a Battery tender to maintain the battery.
I also think that old addage about leaving the frige on to maintain it is urban legend. I have never had any trouble with one and only power it up when loading out for the winter trip south.
I think it is whatever makes one comfortable.
