LED bulb

Thought I would update this post for any future reference. As Gordon noted, the OEM lights had spring loaded ears, so just pull them out and then wait to get your fingernails "mousetrapped" by the ears...two springs on those stupid lights but I had my finger in the danger zone for every one I removed! Everything was purchased from superbright LED and loving the new warm light.

Gordon, that is exactly what I saw when I was cavemanning them...spring loaded ears. I twisted the rings, didn't seem to be the path. I think I might just leave those for now, though my OCD might get the best of me. I might see if I can find new lights first, then worry about how to get them out.

Many times those part numbers are "internal" to the company that sold either the fixture or the coach. And there is indeed a "Generic" (in this case 921) that works fine.

I have been upgrading lights to LED in my rig.. Major improvement in two areas Current consumption (Reduced) Light (Increased) works great.

Likely the fixture has spring loaded "ears" on it that fan out once it's snapped into a hole. Not really designed to be removed without damage. Gentle prying with a plastic putty knife might coax them out safely.

Have you tried twisting either of those rings? Maybe they bayonet or unscrew?

It is funny they're marked for polarity, but also include a diode bridge (black part on the end with + - on it) to make them universal, and also work on low voltage AC.

I imagine the intent was to allow the installer to flip the module so it faces the right way out of the fixture.

Good to point out, make sure your replacements are also universal polarity, for ease of installation. I've found, most quality made modules are, only the cheapest of the cheap are not.

Assuming a 921 bulb will work in your RV. I have had good luck with these:

Looks like something custom, but made to fit a 921 style push-in lamp socket.

Cheap to test, get a glass 921 bulb from the auto parts store and see if it fits the socket.
