Looking for recommendations on 921 style LED bulbs need about 25 and want bulbs that won't cause interference with TV or radio but won't cost me a furtune.
Get panel style with aluminum backing. There's just a plastic plug with wires that goes in the 921 socket.
Aluminum backing is very important IMHO. Despite the common belief LEDs don't generate heat, that is only true for indicator grade. Heat kills LEDs, so keeping them under 50c will lead to the longest life.
It's not the cheap way out, but I replaced all my 12V incandescents with 12 LED puck fixtures. I cost me about $300 to do 8 lights but I have had zero problems and am much happier off-grid.
I have bought over 60 cheap Ebay LEDs and none have burned up or interfered with a radio/TV. For inside I like the warm white so here are 300 options. At $0.50 to $1.50 each, buy a couple of different styles and see how you like them. I have found the 5050 size chips run the coolest. If you have the room and need more light, you can go with a LED panel...for less than $2.
5 years ago I was pressed for time so I bought led's at a CW store. They were pricey but worked. I later bought some from a couple different ebay sellers, some were ok and one purchase of two bulbs for my range vent started smoking and disintegrated with hot pieces burning the plastic lens. I then bought some from superbright led with good results.
You can get some that may go up in smoke and you can get some that will last a long time and not worry about burning your rig down. The seller with the bad ones on ebay was more than willing to send me more of the same for free as long as I didn't leave a bad review. Duuhhh.
