Regarding multiple packs in parallel.. Uh... I have some LI battery packs (not exactly the same chemistry but still LI) and they are made up of multiple packs in parallel with full balancing between the packs.. Even bigger pita, but well.. It can be done
You need a special controller that does it externally.. Someone elsewhere just published a blog about it. I do not think I still have the like in history.
