When talking about lithium, I think the one battery ready to go is the better idea than stringing separate battery jars like we do with fla or agm
I'm beginning to think that too. It's just darn hard to get a believable answer from anyone. The technology is in its infancy for RVs.
The Nexgen site proudly announces they can custom-make any 48v battery, but when asked they seem less than helpful about it. Like RV salesmen, they'd rather sell what's "on the lot".
I've been involved in testing lithium batteries several times over the years for use in assorted aircraft and weapons systems. Even the somewhat safer LiFePO4 batteries can rapidly discharge in a quite spectacular manner when damaged or abused. Electronics utilized to prevent over discharge, over recharging, and keeping the battery pack balanced make a huge difference from a safety perspective. As you're learning though, for the most part there aren't any standards to speak of, so it's hard to know what you're getting.
As a side note, from what I've seen there is a lot of salesman hype in the marketing of lithium batteries. I wouldn't expect anywhere near the cycle life performance claims you see being made.
