Not sure if this helps any. They must have the charger's voltage set right. So why not with a 48? (Somebody mentioned a Sprinter way back in the thread too)

In this thread there is some discussion of 48volt Lithium battery packs in a sprinter. One poster even purports to have a system that is 48 volt for sale to the public. I have not spoke with him personally but look forward to what the future might bring. There are even 48 volt DC air conditioners out there.
