After a few days of camping, the battery works well, never goes below 52. Stable right where it sits. I do have a few charging problems though:
My modified land-line Schauer (58+ charge 55+ absorb) works very well, solar not so much. I can't set the Bulk charging voltage on my Outback controller, just the Absorb and float. I don't think I understand charging as well as I thought I did - it took 8 hours for the solar to charge this thing, and it wasn't heavily used. I've heard many times how solar works so well with these.. so far, not mine. Perhaps that's with the prismatics. (wasn't that a 50s rock group?)
So, what's up with that? Do I need my solar controller modified to charge this battery? It appears it only pumps out just enough voltage to charge, whereas the Schauer is supposed to be a constant voltage/current. My Victron monitor showed it to be constant current until the very end, but the voltage rose as the battery was being charged. I guess I expected to see a constant voltage too.
