no, its because he keeps taking a battery sales place who is trying to insure they get no warenty claims as gospel. yes if you use 80% 10 to 90, youll get longer life and if you only use 50% of the capacity youll get even longer life... but when you get 3000 cycles at 100% usage does it realy matter that much? and even then afer the 3000 cycles you still have a minimum of 80% of theoriginal capacity so you can keep using that batter for who knows how long.. a lead acid after its 800 cycles is done.
I know for myself the batteries I have in the camper are set up at 10% bottom and 100% top end. so I use 90% and even in that case I will never have to relace them again, just move them to the new camper when I get a new one.
