Thanks theoldwizard1!
The controller is decent and from a reputable mfg, but it does not have a native LiFePO4 profile. The mfg does offer one to download which I have done. It intentionally maintains the battery at partial SOC, which I understand why, but leads to my 2nd bullet question.
The controller does not have a native LiFePO4 profile, neither for maintaining at partial SOC nor getting a full SOC, so I would need to create charging profiles for both situations. Any input or suggestions are welcome!
I saw this offered on one of the LiFePO4 websites. I'd almost rather disconnect than invest in another rarely-used charging source.
Agreed, I should have dumped it years ago. But I've also not needed a converter in years and probably would not begin to need one now. It is a nice alt charging source if needed though.

TL DR – I have some questions related to charging 12V LiFePo4 lithium batteries:
*How to best use my solar to charge batteries?
Any decent solar charge controller will have a setting for LiFePO4 batteries.

*Assuming I usually keep the lithium batteries at a partial SOC, what if I want occasional 100% SOC?
Not an issue, assuming you have a charger that has the proper setting.

*What about charging from my tow vehicle?
You need a DC-DC charger.

*What about charging with OEM converter?
it will not work well. Now is the time to dump that old converter and install an inverter/charger/automatic transfer switch.easy to install, easy to use.
