Thanks again 3 tons, I appreciate the input. I do plan on adding a monitor with this upgrade. The Renogy smart battery offers a monitoring screen for around 50 bucks that plugs into the battery via RJ45 cable and communicates directly with the BMS. They claim, "Instead of measuring the current flowing in/out of the battery bank using a shunt, it can communicate directly with the battery management system (BMS) and obtain more accurate state of charge (SoC) readings compared to traditional battery monitors." To me, it is more convenient to use this feature vs installing a shunt system. Any feedback about their claim of obtaining more accurate SOC this way vs a shunt system?
