That "100-watt equivalent" rating on the LED bulb is just a brightness comparison, the bulb maker is saying their bulb has similar light output to a 100-watt incandescent bulb.
There's no extra fire hazard, less in fact. It's only 15 watts rather than 60. LEDs do make a lot of heat, mostly in the internal power supply, but not more than a 60-watt incandescent does.
You've never seen an LED bulb in an EZ-Bake oven have you?
The couple "100-watt equivalent" LEDs I've tried haven't been noticeably brighter (at all!) than any of my 12-watt "60-watt equivalent" bulbs are. I usually buy 2700k, I don't like the "cold" LED or fluorescent lights.
