- cmarqExplorerI have used liquid elec tape for years snow removal equip., marine and rv lasts for years. The nice thing is if you coat terminals with it you can peel off in the future the remove the screws,
- brulazExplorerMy heavy-duty electrical splice consists of soldered wires covered in Liquid Tape and all that covered in heat shrink tubing which is shrunk down while the Liquid Tape is still liquid.
Can be messy though, you don't need a lot of Liquid Electrical tape. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorer

Oh goodie! This must mean you are panting with anticipation at the thought of coming down here and helping me fight a few hundred electrical connections gone green from tropical seashore corrosion. Bring some wire brushes and a vat of Ben-Gay cause you're gonna need them. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerThanks! Your replies, opinions, and recommendations BORED ME into visiting the 3M website where 3M recommends using Liquid Electrical Tape overlayed with SkotchKote. I just ordered a QUART of each, which seems to be more amusing than twiddling my thumbs.
- crcrExplorerTry silicone tape, only sticks to itself, stretches to conform, no sticky adhesive squishing out over time. Great stuff. Comes in several colors, I have black and orange. I use it for electrical and various and sundry other uses. The black foam on my RV entry handle was deteriorating, so I covered it with black silicone tape. Worked great!

Had the boat and trailer for 4-5 years with no problems.
Now usw it on the tow dolly. - sljkansasExplorerI've been using Scotch 33+ for over 30 years. I used it when I was installing antennas on grain evevators. Used it to hold the coax to the metal ladders so the coax wouldn't blow around and it will hold in hot and cold weather. Some places the tape is still there.
- LittleBillExploreruse liquid tape on ATV winches, these things see extreme abuse, 7+ years and 0 issues with it coming off
- Snowman9000ExplorerHow is the dis-assembly with either ScotchKote or liquid tape? I'm talking screw terminals, bolt/stud terminals, that sort of thing.
- MM49ExplorerDo it he Mexican way. Insert the terminated wires in a pop bottle, and duct tape the bottle to the cable. Make sure you follow Mexican code TTaco-001 and place the pop bottle facing up.
