Long term battery storage.

We recently moved to fla. and bought an electric golf cart.I plan on going back north for 6 to 9 months. The cart has 6 volt Trojans. My thoughts were to disconnect the main positive and negative cables and let it sit in the garage.Don,t want to leave the charger running as it is an older one and doesn,t shut it self off.Anyone ever heard of a 36volt battery maintainer?

  • My FIL typically maintains batteries for free for the use of the GC.
Been driving other peoples carts for years and never owned one.
    Trick is finding someone good.
  • Do you have a friend/neighbor that could check your batteries?
Personally I would feel a little uncomfortable plugging in a maintainer and leaving for 6-9 months.
I'm sure it would be okay, but I would be a little paranoid. :)
  • This should work HERE
I have a 12 volt model I used for 12 years and it worked great.
