I estimate I was using 30-40Ah's per day, without heat. My 1000w inverter was only on when absolutely necessary, same with lighting, etc. The only things that were 12v were the fridge controls and meters. This spring I will be adding some 12v fans to the mix; a few for regulating temps in the battery and charger cabinets; as well as a fan to help exhaust the a/c unit's exhaust plenum (custom installed window shaker).
Once I start boondocking in the cold weather, I will have more 12v needs; i.e; a hydronic heat pump, a few small circulating fans, and some electric heating (which is the real killer).
Even though installing 3 flat panels is about the same as having 2 pointed panels, that only applies during summer, or down south in winter. So, even 4 flat panels will likely not do the job of two pointed panels in winter, up here. The increased angles of incidence are my concern. For even at high noon, in summer, being 75 degrees off perpendicular with the Sun can reduce wattage by 50%, so I'm going with multiple tilt angles and a turntable. And this way it won't matter which direction I'm parked. As the chinese rv'er once said, "dis array, dat array, it doesn't madder".
