No 40a mppt controller will handle 1000w of 12v without clipping the excess amperage, thus defeating the whole purpose of mppt.
I'm afraid you misunderstood the specs. 40 amp output at even 14v is only 560 watts. No way it will throughput 1000 watts.
If you're replying to my statement, yes, that's what I figured, but I'm not familiar with the higher end mppt's. I figured, at best, a 40 amper would just waste (clip) the excess wattage. But it wouldn't surprise me if a 40 amper couldn't handle the excessive input, either.
