I discovered a roof leak from the bathroom skylight in my TT Monday (5 inches of rain) and more on the way. Took down the inside garnish and water was dripping from the rubber roof material where it had been cut for the opening, tucked and stapled to the wood framing. the leak is between rubber roof and the skylight flange. I wadded up some small pieces of paper and stuffed them between the rubber roof material and wood framing to make a drip edge so the water would not continue to wet the wood and ceiling paneling.
There is no grey water staining on the wood framing so the leak looks fresh. Was thinking about pulling the inside ceiling panels loose around the opening and peeking inside to make sure the insulation hasn't gotten wet yet and see if the water has migrated towards the outer wall. Will be pulling the skylight and resealing and Eternabonding when the weather permits.
I've been wanting an inspection camera anyway and have needed one in the past, so it may come in handy now to check the ceiling for water damage without tearing down the paneling.
I would say buy one that you can take and save a picture with so you can load the pic to computer for a good view. Also the ones you can hook a external monitor to are very nice. A zoom can be nice as well as being able to dim and brighten the LED light in the head. I've had 3 that I have tried under $200 and not found one I really like yet. The Ridgid CA-300 is the next one I want to try.
