Another solution (after you will have solar up and running, of course).
Dump Honda 2000 and get Honda 3000 or whatever wattage is necessary to run A/C. Because you will mostly need it for A/C. Or keep on running your Onan on such occasions.
Are you planning to run 5000W generator in the morning only to run a microwave and make a coffee, with 420W solar, do I read it correct? On a sunny day you won't need a generator for that. This is what inverter is for. On a dark day, and on the 2nd dark day, you won't need a generator for that either. On the 3rd dark day, if it's still dark, you will need "a" generator. But when it comes to A/C, you need more than 2000W, don't know how much more, depends on your A/C.
