Does anyone have any experience with the Trojan SCS 225 battery? Does it suffer from the same quirks as the T-1275?
Why would you settle for 125 Ah, for $200, when you can buy two GC-2's at 6V each, and 210Ah, for $180?
Get the GC-2 at a Sam's Club or a Costco. You'll be far, far, far ahead going this route, with much less headaches.
Because I don't have room for 4 GC2s, but I do have room for 3 SCS 225. Asking about the SCS 225 because of the perceived problem with the T-1275.
The SCS 225 is in the same class as the Screwy 31, Group 27 deep cycles, and T-1275s. If you're going to go that route, and have room for the T-1275's, then go with 3 of them, and accept that you'll have to get the voltage at or over 15.0V daily, and 1x a week, top them off and equalize charge to 16.0V with everything disconnected electronically from the batteries, so you don't pop any circuit boards in your rig.
The geometry, and the sheer volume of batteries sold in GC-2's is what has driven the technology to make them so efficient, compared to all 12V batteries in the Trojan lineup.
Good luck with what ever you choose. Or find a way to make the room for the GC-2s.
