LP gas Regulator... better brands?

So one thing I can’t understand. I have a rental townhouse that I’ve had since the 80’s.
It has natural gas service. I guess there is a gas regulator on it, but I wouldn’t know...CAUSE ITS NEVER EVER BEEN A PROBLEM IN THIRTY YEARS !

Then how come i am now preparing to change out my two tank regulator for the second time in four years?

I did the percussive tuning thing before. I tried whacking it again and no dice this time.

It’s a Camco model.
Is there a better brand choice?

Thanks

  • Oil in the propane is a supply issue. Need to fill somewhere else after you replace the equipment.
  • If I have to do this job yet again..
I would like to install a quality piece of ... hardware.

Things break around here so fast, I don’t like to do the same fix over and over. I can’t keep up. Lol
  • Well, this happened before.
At that time, I blew air from the oven/range connection to the tank area. I had the connection at the tank open. A bit of oil came out but otherwise clear.

Troubleshooted it down to the regulator.

Got pissed and smacked the **** out of the regulator and it decided to start working again.
  • can you disconnect a pigtail and determine if gas flows though it?

The one that goes from my 250 gallon propane tank to my house is 30 years old. Hmmmmm
