LP TANK DATE STAMP ?

From date of LP tank mfg, how much time until the tank can not be refilled before being recertified? My DW did a tank exchange and I just realized the mfg, date is 01-07 on the exchange tank which I now need to fill. I can do another tank exchange but hate to. Anyone remember?

  • I was getting a 20# filled and the guy said that he would fill it this time but not again.
Getting home I looked at it and it looked like a food grill had spilled grease on the top edge. I figured that I would sand the rust off and paint it.
When I sanded it I found that it was badly pitted.
I guess that the guy knew what he was what he was doing, thanks.
  • is that is the regular gas grill size type just take to a tank exchange places and pick one with a newer date. easy enough way to exchange the old for new.
  • A few years ago I had some Canadian friends that just took some metal stamps and re-stamped their own tanks to a more current date...Nothing I would do, but just sayin
