We typically do 4 short(200 miles round trip) and a couple of (2000 mile) camping trips a year. That will probably increase since I just retired. The trailer typically does not get used from Nov. through Feb. until the weather gets a little warmer.
We are heading to the Grand Canyon area (Dead Horse Ranch SP)early March and want to make sure everything is ready for this long trip. We are taking a two day trip starting tomorrow since the day time temps are going to be in the 70's.

Doing those type of miles will definitely get the tires hot enough to work on any tire shortcoming. If you were just doing short trips you can really push tires, but once you're doing miles then you have to think safety and what damage they will do if they explode. If it cost a few hundred dollars to repair the damage they do, does it really make sense to push them?
For me I would not push tires much past seven years if I was doing those type of miles. Less if they were showing cracking or bulging. It's a tough call for all of us. Good luck on your decision.
