Macerator took a dump!
Past couple of years, I've been having a few problems with my 6 year old Sani-Con model 5800 macerator. First it was hair on the impeller (to be expected with females showering) and wasn't a big deal. Then it plugged up at the inlet (too much tp and again to be expected with females using the toilet) and was a nasty job to clear and clean. Then last summer, it would cease to pump for no reason. Impeller was turning, no hair, no tp, no.... Just wouldn't pump, but removed 3" inlet hose and reattached and lo and behold, it started pumping again. No more problems even after we got home and I winterized the system.
Now we're getting ready for out annual summer trips and thought I had better check this thing one more time. Sure enough, will not pump no matter what I do. Just sits there and spins....
So, I guess it's back to the old tried and true stinky slinky. However, to dump at home when we return, I have to have a macerator. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy another just for that purpose. Bummer!
