Both of you are absolutely correct. I took the macerator to my work bench and decided that if I broke it by taking it apart...no big deal as it didn't work now. However, removing the small 3/8" nut on the cutter blades enable me to pull the rest of the front housing off and lo and behold there lies the impeller with NO vanes left on it at all. You guys are so smart!
You know, I did reverse the polarity on the motor to see if maybe I had it connected backwards...of course once I did that, I noticed the instruction on the motor telling me which wire was what. I can be such a dummy some times.
Anyway, ordered two new kits (impeller plus gasket) and will keep one for a spare.
