I live in Daleville AL, but camp in much colder climates.
Good point about bringing cold air from basement to RV.
We use electric heater to avoid noisy heat pumps, which don't work below 40 degrees, and to save money on propane.
If near freezing, I suppose a mixture of gas furnace and elect heater would be best of both worlds.
Real answer is if its cold enough to freeze plumbing, not much fun camping anyway.... stay home.
