If I'm using someone else's electricity I prefer electric heat, it's quiet and also more even.
The propane furnace is deafening like the AC unit, when it's on you can't talk to others or on the phone. It also has a huge temperature swing. With the thermostat set for 65F it will heat until 75F, then the gas shuts off but the blower continues running another five minutes to cool down or something. it won't come back on until the temperature drops below 60F.
