I believe the type Macerator this thread is about is for dumping at HOME, not at a real RV dump station.
The PROBLEM that I have is simple, IF you have a Factory installed macerator (they usually have quick connects to bypass the macerator system), WHY,WHY,WHY would you want to grind up your sewage to go into a standard RV dump connection??????? Now, if you are on a Septic type system or your own , then I can see the point. If you want to pump into your Home regular sewage system at the cleanout area, I can see why. If you want to pump into the portable dump containers, I can see why. The macerator must have a large enough inlet to get the Black tank debris to easily enter to be ground up. I fix macerators all the time because they have something lodged (hairpins/cuetips and such) lodged in the intake impellor. I would only use them if nothing else is available and would never have them hard plumbed where you cannot easily bypass them. Doug
