Yes, adhesive can rip wallpaper off when new, and can fall off when aged. I used it inside, no plans to remove, and added a few #6 screws to make sure it won't fall off.
MC4 cables are UV-resistant. A blob of Dicor every few ft will hold it to the roof rubber. On the exterior front sloped wall - don't know, nobody normally does this since controllers are usually inside (or in front storage).
