This EPSolar Tracer 2210A limits its current Output to 20A (at 24V = 520W). But like BFL13 says it claims it can handle upto 3x that wattage as solar Input (1560W @24V).
The Meanwell RSP-500-27 as Input to the EpSolar is rated at 500W, but I've seen the Inverter feeding it briefly display 700W with depleted batteries. The Meanwell is constant current limited with a rated power overload of 105-130% of 500W. At 130% that's a rated max of 650W, about what I've seen taking into account the Inverter's inefficiency.
By setting the Meanwell Output to its max observed V of 32.5V and with its rated 90% efficiency, that's a max Output of < 20A at 650-700W. It's actual rated current Output is 18.6A. It is also current self-limiting and will not provide any more amps than that AFAIK.
At this point, I'm more worried that the EpSolar will somehow notice that the Meanwell is not behaving as a Solar Panel when it does its MPP scans; and freak out. As suggested by the Wiz, a PWM controller might be a better choice for this application. We'll see.
Sadly I will not be back at the trailer until early Feb to see if all this works. Will report back then.
