PT the possible ( but confused) point I was making is that even though the new battery will get higher in AH capacity at the 20 hr rate after some deep cycling, it still shows the SG and OCV for "full" at electrolyte temp of 77F when full. After the initial 50 cycles it will show the same SG and OCV for its new AH capacity when full. ( I think! it would be funny if more Es counted as deep cycles and raised the SG and the AH to explain this)
100% SOC is "full" but is not necessarily the rated 20 hr rate. It is as full as it can get. Except an older sulfated batt will show lower SG when full, but could show good OCV until a load is added.
ISTR my older batts coming out at about 80% of rated AH capacity on the 10 hr test at the 20 hr rate, but full SG was more like 1.260--say at 60F temp whatever.
I am not clear on just what K has found. I am doubting that 15% AH improvement for reasons given earlier. Is there some element of description vs prescription going on? IE is K taking SG as making SOC instead of SOC making SG? I am not clear at all and could be way out to lunch. Not a clue right now. :(
