Dan,
I'm wondering about that tempered glass window you had installed?
The cabover bunk forward facing tempered glass window in our motorhome got hit by a rock from a large truck once and it shattered instantly all over the place .... including coming down on top of us as we were driving and trying to find a pull-over place to stop. A million pieces everywhere and a real mess to clean up.
As far as I know, the replacement window assembly from Winnebago that we had installed is still tempered glass.
What about safety glass in any forward facing windows in towables (or the cabover windows in Class C motorhomes)? Why the need for tempered glass at all - that can shatter? Wouldn't un-shatterable safety glass be way more appropriate in these kind of applications? In fact - why shouldn't safety glass be used for ALL WINDOWS in at least motorhomes - since people can often be riding close them - just like in personal vehicles?
Sorry for the rant ... but this incident we experienced 3000 miles from home due to tempered glass was not fun. :(
