Simple fix.
Replace the magnetron. DANGER LETHAL VOLTAGE
BTW - The part may cost more than a new µwave oven.
Have you ever replaced a magnetron ?
Is there a fuse/fusible link feeding it?
TIA,
Mike
When I was in the Navy, I replaced many magnetrons in AN/SPS-10 and AN/SPS-12 RADAR sets.
When I went back to "civvie street", I ran the avionics shop at a small airport, where I had an FAA/FCC certified RADAR bench. A local appliance store used to bring me the µwave ovens that their customers had brought in for repair.
There are no fuses or fusible links in the high voltage circuits, just one short wire from the power supply to the "Maggie".
Do not attempt to work near a magnetron with steel tools. I have known quite a few people who tried and wound up with broken fingers when they got caught between the magnet and a screwdriver or a wrench.
All of the tools on my RADAR bench were made of bronze, so I never had that problem.
