It seems like you're one of those guys that will always be experimenting in one way or another with whatever combination of chargers and batteries you have. Seems you try to intelligently wring out the best charging regimes and arrive at a sweet spot for your situation.
Mixing up a few batteries here and there shouldn't deter you in the least. I will say that my own preferences regarding AGM's has changed in the past few years. The successes reported on this Forum and accidently leaving the caps off on my 6V's the last go-round of maintenance, has me leaning more towards a total AGM solution. It would also give me a better upgrade path than present since I would have them all inside, close to the distribution and devices.
