I had a nice conversation with one of the techs at Chargetek today. They make industrial chargers that can be customized from the factory.
We had a long conversation about the complete lack of programmable 120v chargers for golf cart, RE and industrial batteries. He said they are working on a charger that has a USB port and can be custom programmed for all charging set-points and absorption hold times. He said to check back in February and to expect a 30a version to be around $300

Hopefully they will sell these to individuals. He hinted that they would as long as the person sounds like they know what they are doing. The charger would be upgraded online with code written and approved by Chargetek. He didn't mention whether there would be a charge for changes after purchase or whether multiple configurations could be downloaded to a single charger.
