more fridge issues dometic rm3762

Posted a few weeks ago about some temp fluctuation concerns I was having. Seems they were more or less normal and were pretty stable on our trip this past weekend. Unfortunetly the fridge started acting up on the way home. It displays an e3 error code and will not do anything on either gas or electric.. I did a search and didnt come up with much info. Some have mentioned a possible thermal switch but I did not see anything on my quick once over of the rear of the unit.

the pita is that we are heading back out next week and I dont think my dealer has the ability to get everythingntaken care of in any sort of a timely manner. Any advice on quick checks before I call my dealer and see if they can help.

  • The 'service manual' link provided doesn't include error codes 3 or 4 but this one does......LINK

E3....cooling unit has malfunctioned.contact Dometic Service

    Not very helpful :S

Do you have any panel lights?
If NO.......the burner thermal fuse may have blown. Located on flue...red wire is dc +
Also check the 5A mini auto fuse on circuit board. Unplug 120V AC cord and DC power lead then remove cover.fuse lower left side
  • If the fridge can't be fixed before your next trip you can use dry ice to keep it cool for several days.

Put chunks in the freezer & referator compartments along with pre frozen and cold food. Make sure nothing touches the dry ice to prvent freezer burn.

Maybe put a small battery powered fan in the refrigerator compartment to help circulate the cold.
  • I have a Dometic for a number of years in my 93 Pace. Been a GREAT fridge! No issues. Still cooling strong!
  • Mine has a fan installed on the back which is noisey as hell. I looked through most of those google links. Most are for different models and they are not all setup the same which is why included my model number in hopes someome has some other info.
  • The service manual doesn't indicate anything for an e-3 error code, hopefully dealer can get you back on the road quickly. Thankfully our Dometic fridge has been bullet-proof over the last 7 years whether on electric or propane, other than the interior fan I installed and the occasional clicking from dsi igniter it's operation is noise-free.
  • I did a Google search "Dometic Refrigerator, E3 code" and came up with this link LINK

There were lots of other sites listed if that doesn't help.
