Mex, sorry for your mishap with Chinese boards. 1/5 of advertised watts is a rip-off. A lot of people found 48*3528 boards equivalent in brightness to a single 18W RV bulb and had those boards for years. Try another vendor maybe. China is our curse, largely self-inflicted.
A word on Smartphones and their apps: don't reject them only because there is no digital coverage in your area. I never had any data plan on my Android, and still use its "smart" features to run free apps that don't require ANY connection, not even even a primitive analog cell phone connection. For example, tidal chart or navigator - they only require sky above your head. And Spanish dictionary. You connect smartphone to your PC in "internet pass through mode", download all those free apps into smartphone, and then take your smartphone with you and use it. My provider even gave me Android for free, they do this for old clients every few years.
When there is no even landline ISP, this is tough of course. But you are posting these messages somehow, so there must be some friend or pay kiosk with satellite internet. Downloading one app to smartphone only takes a minute.
