I assembled four of these little guys tonight, testing one out right now with some batteries.



That's a 1-watt Luxeon Rebel LED (Vf about 3v) powered by a 4.8v nimh pack I had handy. Output approximately 100 lumens, 3500K color temp. The LED can handle up to 3 watts (1 amp) with almost 300 lumen output, but it needs a beefy heat sink to accomplish that feat. Next step is three of these LEDs on a single board.
