I have a Morningstar Tristar PWM 45. I have no experience with any other type of controller. I have not purchased the display panel. Originally I thought I would really want the panel, but I now get enough info to satisfy my curiosity just by looking at the system voltage and/or LED status lights. But I do utilize the interface with my laptop fairly often and I can access pretty much ALL of the info available via the MSVIEW program. MSVIEW is also used for creating fully customized charging/diversion load programs. In other words, I think the Morningstar Tristar is awesome and allows for full customization of all parameters.
