mossing of the plates in lead acid batteries
Hi, What is mossing of the plates? What causes it? What can I do to avoid it?

I was wrong! My info on sulfation was good, but I was wrong about the nature of "Mossing". I will have to plead ignorance as I have never experienced mossing in any SLA wet batteries I maintained for many decades. I have never heard of it in RV applications ... I suspect because of the considerable motion RV batteries are subjected to would probably preclude any significant dendrites (moss) from forming.
