Unfortunately, that is the exact reality and you have no other choices. My choice would be a new antenna with a new warranty before I spent $800 for software for an antique antenna. I would recommend the the Trav'ler upgrade. The company is not going anywhere and if you do need service you have a network of service providers that is 1000's deep. It's unlikely you will have problems but it's a nice option to have.
I am sure this is a long shot, but I don't see many folks with the last name of Hoag. Do you know a Brian Hoag who has an RV and a MotoSAT Datastorm?
