Couple things you might already know.
1. Some charges are lousy and can reduce battery life if left plugged in 24/7.
2. Dont use a long and thin electrical cord because the voltage drops.
3. If your house service panel is on the side of the garage it could be cheap and easy to add a 50a hookup. Friends or relatives could use the trailer microwave and air conditioning without worry.
