MPPT controller - voltage sensing without separate wires?

Soon to be released MPPT 3048 will have battery voltage sensing wires optional. Before they were standard. Now it is supposed to sense the battery voltage through main terminal cables, if I'm correct....

Correct, Morningstar 45 has 150V max. Makes it even more odd to read then, that voltage sense is "not required", doesn't it?...
