I guess I am a bit confused as to exactly what it is you are asking
"Correct, Morningstar 45 has 150V max. Makes it even more odd to read then, that voltage sense is "not required", doesn't it?..."
Array max "input voltage rating" it not related to the Battery voltage sense lines we have been discussing. Max array input is set by the limits of the electrical parts in the buck conversion stage. (Marc could easily give us details if he desires)
Another operational "voltage sense" is used by the controller to determine what the nominal battery voltage of the system such as 12, 24, 36, 48, again not releated to the voltage sense lines we have been discussing
