I have removed the Tristar from consideration, and added Outback based on OldMan's recommendation.
I've been reading manuals. My LifeLine's are very specific on how to fully charge, which is run absorption until current drops to one half percent of capacity.
Tristar really does not explain how they terminate to float. The language is
"The transition to float is based on the previous 24 hour history. Factors include the battery voltage, the state of charge the night before, the battery type, and the PWM duty cycle and stability of the duty cycle."Tristar ManualMidNite and Outback will let you terminate to float on programmable current. That's what I need.
In terms of cost, the MidNite 150 (which includes a remountable display) turns out to cost less than the Tristar + remote display. Outback looks to be most costly with the remote figured in. Still digesting on the last two choices... lots of material to read.
