Switching on amperage is rather imprecise while the RV is in use.
Example if you drop to float at 1 amp but the RV is using 2 amps you are back on the timer anyway. I do assume Midnite also has a timer in conjunction with the amp setting.
Morningstar MPPT 60 has two adjustable absorption time settings based on battery voltage at the start of the day. Mine is set short at 15 minutes unless the battery is less than 12.4 volts then it extends absorption 2 hours. This is storage vs in normal use. Also has a setting to hold absorption all day if the battery was very low. I set this at 11.8 volts. Close enough for wet cell and maybe you want more exact with AGM. Just explaining how Tristar works.
