My A/C is to old and they don't make replacement capacitors?

MY 1997 Damon Intruder 32 FT class A had the rear A/C unit stop working. It doesn't come on but the fan function works fine. I think the start capacitor has failed. Every shop wants to sell me a new A...

Before you disconnect it see if there is a dropping resistor across the terminals. If there isn't short the terminals with a metal screwdriver to be sure it's discharged.

Capacitors can hold a charge for years, just waiting for you to complete the circuit.... and big electrolytic caps can kill you.
